Tamara Lah Turnsek

Tamara Lah Turnšek holds a PhD from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia and is. since 1996 Director of the National Institute of Biology and Head of Department of Genetic Toxicology and Cancer Biology till 2004. She is also Professor at University of Ljubljana, teaching Biochemistry of Cancer. Her career started Josef Stefan Institute in Slovenia, being a PhD student partially at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. She gained her postdoctoral experiences as Assistant Professor at School of Medicine, WSU, Detroit MI.. Between 1991-1994 she was Visiting Professor and Director of Metastasis Research Laboratory at Albert Einstein Medical Centre, in Philadelphia, PA, USA. And has recently been appointed also as Guest Professor in Sao Paolo University in Brasil.
